Rules

Some rules you need to follow before you actually start hacking at our event

  1. Attendees need to apply with a github account or portfolio, unfortunately at this time we're not doing open registration

  2. Attendees can’t pitch a startup idea and have to select from the wheel of random api’s that we constructed.

  3. Every Attendee has to wear a lanyard to show proof that they’re competing.

  4. Team setup have 2-4 people in each team or freely go solo if you choose too

  5. All code must be written during the event and no pre-existing code workspaces before the event.

  6. No showcasing local host applications must be deployed with a cloud domain or personal domain (using Vercel, Netify, Render etc.)

Eligibility

Must apply using application forms 

Only 30-40 students from various Colleges and Universities around Toronto and the GTA

Project and Submission Requirements

Must Submit a GitHub Repo / code source 

Must showcase a show little demo / explanation on what you build.

Github Repo must have some instructions for the judges to read and base testing the application.

Application must be deployed using (Vercel, Netify, Render etc.).

(Tech Implementation)

How your tech was implemented in this project. This criterion does not have any bearing on how fancy the tech is but on how seamlessly you have used it. Please include your process in your pitch.

(User-Experience)

You will be judged on the logic you used to design the project. Rather than aesthetic, you will be given points for how easy it is to use and how intuitive the design is.

Stage Presence

(Pitch Delivery)

Does your pitch flow well? Are you explaining the purpose and need for your project in the real world? Did you explain your process of creating this project? Can you ever monetize it? If so, how?

(Idea Potential)

It is okay if the idea is not built fully, especially when you only have 6 hours! - tell us what else you would do if you had all the resources in the world!

Winner Selection

Winner selection is based off the judging critercia and how good of an application of your team is based on the rubic.

Along with that, selecitng the winner based off the 3 factors below determines the winner.
